A place where parents and caregivers can get answers to questions, information about programs and services that are available for young children, and an opportunity to talk to early years professionals, as well as other parents and caregivers in the community. - Resource library
- Open Drop-ins (Kanata): For children 0 to 6 years of age and their parents and caregivers. Activities and free play for children including arts and crafts, games, songs, stories and other fun activities. Opportunity for parents and caregivers to meet others for social and community support as well as to access our Resource library.
- Outreach Drop-ins:
- Carp - 434 Donald B. Munro
- Corkery - Carol Homestead Park, 3447 Old Almonte Road
- Outreach Programming: A variety of Parent Workshops and Early Learning activities are offered in our Outreach locations, including a series called Learn Along and Children in Motion.
- Little Crawlers / Baby Drop-in: for parents/caregivers and their non-walking infants. Join us in learning new songs, rhymes and finger plays as well as have an opportunity to meet other parents and learn more about parenting. Bi-weekly visits by nurses; enrichment topics weekly.
- Saturday morning drop-ins (no Saturday drop-ins June to August inclusively)
- 1st Saturday is for Special needs
- 2nd and 4th Saturdays are for Families
- 3rd Saturday is offered in French
- Special needs programming: In partnership with OCTC, specialized groups are offered Friday mornings in the EYC. Please contact your Family Resource Worker or the Ottawa Children’s Treatment Centre for more information.
- Toy Library at Kinburn Client Service Centre - 5670 Carp Road: sign out toys for a set amount of time. This allows you to expose the children to a variety of different activities that support their development.
- Workshops and Training: There are numerous workshops being offered through your Early Years Centre and in many of our Outreach locations. Please consult with your Family Resource Worker who will have a list of the workshop titles, dates and times. Call 613-591-3686 or email oeyccarleton@communityresourcecentre.ca. - Open Drop-ins: Monday 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. ; Tuesday 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. ; Wednesday 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. ; 11:00 - 12:30 p.m. ; 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. ; Friday 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.
- Caregiver Drop-in: Thursday 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.
- Infant Development Service Support: every 3rd Wednesday
- Toy Library: Available during drop-in times (starting in Oct)
We Serve
- For children 0 to 6 years of age and their parents and caregivers from Kanata, West Carleton, and for workshop purposes, Bells Corners.
